FIND YOUR ADVENTURE AND DOWNLOAD THIS ITINERARY.
Start off your morning by learning from one of the leaders in agriculture why precision farming is so important to feeding the world at the Monsanto Learning Facility. (515)-597-5900
Continue your day by heading to catch one of the only plants in the world producing sprayers, cotton pickers and tillage equipment for John Deere at John Deere Works in Ankeny. (515) 289- 3283
Next, take in a local winery or brewery in the area. With so many options, take the time to learn why Iowa has some of the best, due to our fertile soils. Click HERE for breweries. Click HERE for wineries.
As a licensed 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation, Prairie Meadows Casino Racetrack & Hotel is unique to the fact of how much they contribute back to the community, especially with agriculture. Take a tour of the casino, watch live horse racing or try your luck on the slots or tables games. They are also home to a hotel and a fabulous buffet and restaurant to try out for dinner. DAY 2
Wake up on Day 2 and get ready to catch an educational tour to learn the history of the World Food Prize as well as Norman Borlaug’s lifelong passion to feeding the world at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates. A must see in Des Moines! (515) 245-3783
Take a group on a nature tour on or off a coach or have an educational program with Polk County Conservation. They can accommodate any type of group! Your group could event take a guided trail ride or wagon ride at Jester Park! (515) 323-5363
Continue your day and catch an outdoor interactive museum with more than 500 acres of education and fun at Living History Farms. Catch the history surrounding Midwestern rural life in period costumes from the 1800s to mid 1900s and anywhere in between. (515) 278-5286
