Blank Park Zoo
Iowa’s largest zoo is where the wild things are. For kids, that means giraffe feedings, sea lion hijinks, and a red panda exhibit. For moms and dads, that means seasonal events like Zoo Brew. Other highlights include:
- Wild Lights Festival – typically occuring from April through May, Wild Lights features 50 handcrafted, larger-than-life, illuminated animal shaped Asian lanterns. The best time to see them begins at sunset.
- Dozens of animal exhibits, including lions, penguins, lemurs, amur tigers, and zebras. Over 2,100 animals and 200 species in total!
- Rides like a train and carousel, and activities like face painting and animal feeding.
Engage your wild side at the zoo year long, with peak season occurring in the summer and fall.
