Chichaqua Valley Trail

Stretching 25 miles from Berwick to Baxter, the fully paved Chichaqua Valley Trail is perfect for runners, cyclists, rollerbladers, and all other non-motorized methods of transportation. Due to its railroad origins, mile markers to Kansas City can be found along the trail. The railroad route was abandoned in 1984 and reopened as a recreational trail in 1987. In addition to the mile markers, the trail features stone bridges dating back to 1885. The Polk County trailhead is located just south of Highway 65 at 8123 NE 88th St. in Bondurant. Parking is available at the Polk County trailhead, Mally's Park in Berwick, and at towns along the trail.
