Looking for ways to celebrate dad this weekend? Check out all of these events going on around Greater Des Moines for many different ways to enjoy Father’s Day weekend!

Military Vehicle Preservation Association
Get up close and personal with Military vehicles from World War II, Korean, Vietnam & Afghanistan Wars during the 48th annual Military Vehicle Preservation Association – Historical Archives Convention, June 15 – 17 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.  Along with daily parades and vendors, the public will be able to vote on vehicles that have been modified from their original military purpose and those that are not military vehicles but pay tribute to the armed forces. Sporting Event
Catch a game at Principal Park or Wells Fargo Arena over the weekend. The Iowa Cubs play at home, June 13 – 18 against the Indianapolis Indians. Get there early on Saturday to play catch on the field before the game. On Sunday you can also play catch on the field before the game and then run the bases post-game. Over at Wells Fargo, the Iowa Barnstormers are taking on the Quad City Steamwheelers on June 17.

The Science Trail
Spend Father’s Day at Raccoon River Park for the Science Festival Trail. You’ll learn about science and environmental-related organizations, see demonstrations from local high school robotics teams, and enjoy listening to live music. There will also be free popcorn and hot dogs.  

The Impractical Jokers
Give the dad in your life an evening of laughs at The Impractical Jokers. The trio of pranksters will be at Wells Fargo Arena on June 16. They are best known for the hidden camera comedy show that follows them as they compete to embarrass each other in public. Tickets are available and start at $35. 

Father’s Day Special at the Botanical Garden 
Spend the day exploring nature – both indoors and out! The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is offering free admission for fathers on Father’s Day, so you can take the kiddos and learn all about thousands of different plants. Be sure to stop at Trellis Café to grab a delicious lunch as well.  

Father's Day Brunch at Beerstyles
Treat dad to an extraordinary brunch at Beerstyles on Father's Day with French Master Chef, David Baruthio. Cost is $39.00/person and will feature a large menu of brunch favorites. Father's Day BARK-Becue
For all you dog dads out there (all dads welcome), head out to Paws & Pints for the ultimate Father's Day BARK-Becue. They are partnering with Iowa Distilling Company to bring you all the meats including Snake River Farms Gold Wagyu Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, and Pulled Pork. A good barbeque meal isn't complete without the sides, and they've for you covered with Bacon Green Beans, Roasted Potatoes, Sweet Corn, Coleslaw, and Smoked Jalapeño Cornbread with Honey Compound Butter. Father’s Day Golfing 
Is your dad’s ideal day spent swinging on the green? Head on over to Toad Valley for a free round of golf for dad, when another round is purchased. More of a mini golf fan? The same deal applies!
