It’s a Trip. Make It Bloom.
Reiman Gardens is Iowa State University’s horticulture garden dating all the way back to 1914. Over the years it’s undergone many iterations to become what it is today with their mission to “educate, enchant, and inspire an appreciation of plants, insects, and the beauty of the natural world.” Explore everything Reiman Gardens has to offer this spring season.
Choose Your Own Adventure
Throughout the month of April, Reiman Gardens is welcoming spring in full bloom. This season is dedicated to the wonders of plant life and nature, including longer days of sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Walk Amongst the Blooming Flora
Midwesterners are very familiar with tulip season, so where better to celebrate than at Reiman? Watch for over 45,000 tulips and 25,000 daffodils, hyacinth, striped squill, and more in a breathtaking display. The gardens change quickly throughout the spring, so no two visits will be the same.
Hunt for Fairies & Small Creatures
Little explorers are invited to truly discover magic within the gardens. Hidden between the blooms and greenery are fairy doors and tiny creature huts. Keep an eye out for these whimsical surprises throughout the space.
Attend a Wellness & Learning Event
Spring is about renewal and growth in nature, but also within us. Reiman Gardens is hosting a variety of classes all month long that will help with our mind, body, and soul. Take a yoga class to challenge your physical body and mind, attend a workshop about Generative AI, or explore your creativity with a watercolor class. There are all kinds of events focused on wellness and learning for all ages.
Bring Your Pup for an Evening Stroll
“Rovers at Reiman” is a dog-friendly event held every Tuesday in April. Leash up your pup for a walk around the gardens between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Your dog will be given special ribbons depending on their comfort level interacting with other dogs and humans. Treat bags will also be provided!
Linger Longer in Golden Hour
As the days get longer and the sun takes a while to set, stop by Reiman Gardens on a Tuesday or Thursday to enjoy extended hours. The gardens are the perfect respite for peace after a long day at work or school.
