The #DSMLocalChallenge was such a grassroots success and boon to local businesses that we decided to up the ante with the 7-Day Local Challenge. We've teamed up with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to encourage supporting local. Now, with more businesses opening, there are even more ways to support your favorite small businesses.
Take the Challenge
How does it work? It's easy. From June 25 – July 1, make sure every dollar you spend is spent locally. Groceries? Fourth of July goodies? Home improvement projects? Food and drink? Things to do with the kids? Do it all locally.
Anytime you make a purchase or go somewhere local during those seven days, post about how you supported local with the hashtag #DSMlocalchallenge. When you're done, there's even a cool badge you can post to social media to show you completed the challenge.
Take the Pledge
Make your commitment to take the challenge and shop local for the week of June 25 – July 1 here. Then post the graphic at the end of the form to your social pages with the message, "I pledge to take the 7-Day DSM Local Challenge from June 25 – July 1 and challenge (tag friends) to do the same."
