DES MOINES, IA - The 2015 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships begin tomorrow, July 21 through Saturday, July 25 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. Central Iowans are encouraged to catch 97 teams, from six different countries, compete in one of USA Volleyball's flagship events.

The Championships, hosted in Des Moines for the first time since 2012, are expected to bring $2.6 million in economic impact to the Greater Des Moines economy. With both boys and girls tournaments, the event will feature 1,455 athletes, more than 68 from Iowa, competing in both Hy-Vee Hall and Wells Fargo Arena. This event is the pipeline to the Olympic program and will welcome several former Olympians who are current USA Volleyball coaches.

"We're proud to host the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships again," says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission. "We have the opportunity to show athletes and fans that Greater Des Moines has world-class sports facilities, hospitality and entertainment. It also provides locals the chance to watch some of the best athletes in the world compete."
