Des Moines, IA –The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission invites the public to enjoy two, free basketball events leading up to the start of the 2016 NCAA DI Men’s Basketball Championship First/Second Rounds on Thursday, March 17.

  • Catch Des Moines Werner Ladder Photo Opportunity:

    • When: Monday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    • Where: Valley West Mall, second floor

    • Attendees can snag a photo with a Werner ladder, the official ladder of the NCAA® Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, basketball hoop and half-cut basketball net

    • Giveaways provided

    • Created and hosted by the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission

  • NCAA Open Practice:

    • When: Wednesday, March 16 starting at Noon

    • Where: Wells Fargo Arena

    • Attendees can watch teams practice throughout the day

    • Individuals do not need a ticket to the tournament to attend
