School's out! Troy, Gabriella, Chad, Taylor, and Kelsi are spending the summer together, working at Lava Springs Country Club, owned by Sharpay and Ryan Evan's dad. Sharpay is up to her old tricks of trying to catch Troy. Will it mean the end of Troy and Gabriella when Troy agrees to sing with Sharpay in the club's annual talent show? "Disney's High School Musical 2" is a fun and fresh new stage version of the hugely popular movie. The Playhouse is proud to present this sequel to our record-setting summer 2007 musical, "Disney's High School Musical."
The "Disney's High School Musical 2" cast of 22 features Dustin Thomas as Troy Bolton, Kelsey Waugaman as Gabriella Montez, Katelyn Thompson as Sharpay Evans, Michael Heath as Chad Danforth and Noby Edwards as Taylor McKessie. The show is directed by Todd Buchacker, with musical direction by Brenton Brown and choreography by David Decker.
The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
