DES MOINES, Iowa (October 6, 2023) – Buckle up Des Moines, Banana Ball is coming back. The wildly popular Savanah Bananas are making an encore trip to the capital city in 2024, returning to Principal Park on September 6, 7, and 8. After quickly selling out two dates this year and becoming the hottest ticket in town, the TikTok darling have added an additional date to accommodate their growing fanbase.  “Des Moines went bananas over the Savannah Bananas when they played at Principal Park this summer and we can’t wait to have their one-of-a-kind baseball entertainment back again next year,” said Catch Des Moines President and CEO Greg Edwards. “Everyone associated with the Savannah Bananas commented on how much they loved Des Moines and the energy and enthusiasm the fans brought to the stadium. When visitors and events fall in love with our city and want to make a return visit, it’s a real testament to the passionate fanbase and cool community we have here.”  The Bananas will once again take on their rivals, The Party Animals, for three straight games. Games on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 will be played at 7 p.m. and the game on Sunday, September 8 will start at 1 p.m. Tickets are not on sale yet, but fans can sign up to get presale alerts. All General Admission tickets will be sold through the Savannah Bananas at the price of $35 per ticket, while premium seating opportunities will be sold via the Iowa Cubs. All questions regarding premium seating can be forwarded to Brent Conkel of the Iowa Cubs, at brentc@iowacubs.com or by calling the front office at (515) 243-6111. The Savannah Bananas have their own version of baseball that they call Banana Ball which includes on-field antics like choreographed dances, crazy rules (if a fan catches a foul bout, it counts as an out), crowd participation skits, and fun props.
