Four screenings July 28 - 29 spotlight Iowa filmmaking talent

48 teams of filmmakers wrote, filmed, edited hundreds of hours of film in just 48 hours over the past weekend - each to create their best 4- 7 minute short film to compete for "The Best of City" award in this years Des Moines 48 Hour Film Project. Audiences will get to see all the hard work and long hours on the big screen - and vote for their favorite film - at Fleur Cinema (4545 Fleur Drive) starting Wednesday July 28 and Thursday July 29 at 7 and 9:30 pm.

The 48 Hour Film Project will hold two nights of screenings, featuring the official 2010 entries, at the Fleur Cinema & Café on July 28 and 29. Witness films by local filmmakers made just 3 days earlier. Groups A and B, July 28; Groups C and D, July 29. Shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per show. Then on August 12, Walk the red carpet, witness the top 12 films of 2010, then find out all the award winners. A catered reception and exclusive concert featuring The Speedbumps follows at the Des Moines Social Club as part of the Awards Celebration sponsored by Midwestix and The Des Moines Social Club.
