At a board meeting last night the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors voted to accept Indianola’s request to become the 13th municipality to join the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Indianola City Council voted on Monday, October 15 to begin hotel/motel tax payments as of November 2012, which will gradually increase over the next two years until the community is fully invested as a 28E partner of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau. As of July 2014, or before, Indianola will be a voting member of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.
Now that the agreement has been approved by both groups, official legal documents outlining the 28E agreement will be submitted to the City of Indianola.
