Des Moines, IA – The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau (GDMCVB) is proud to unveil a new way of seeing Greater Des Moines with See Des Moines Mobile.
This new, interactive mobile website acts much like a mobile application. It allows locals and visitors to search for upcoming events, things to do, places to stay, coupons and deals and food and drink options easily from their smartphone.
See Des Moines Mobile offers a unique way of exploring Greater Des Moines. Users with a GPS-enabled smartphone can search for nearby points of interest by selecting “My Current Location.” The GPS-enabled smartphone then automatically determines your exact current location and provides a list of things to do, for example, within one mile of you. This same technology is available when searching for hotels, restaurants and nightlife on See Des Moines Mobile.
“We’re excited to offer another service to our visitors and locals,” said Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the GDMCVB. “This technology is pretty cutting edge in the CVB arena and we are anxious to see how it continues to add to the visitor’s experience. We believe this will push more traffic into local hotels, businesses and restaurants which should result in higher visitor expenditures.”
The new See Des Moines Mobile is free and accessible to all iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphone users by typing www.catchdesmoines.com into their mobile web browser. This automatically redirects smartphone users to this new site.
