Meetings MidAmerica says, “WOW! Des Moines” in an article just released and distributed to meeting planners and destination expert professionals throughout the Midwest.
The two-page, photo-filled spread in the March/April issue article highlights Des Moines as a city who’s got it together with, “a downtown that’s grown up quite a bit in the past decade.” Des Moines’ $2.8 billion in downtown development including the emerging East Village, great dining choices and trouble-free transportation were all discussed in the piece.
The article was the result of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (GDMCVB) work to promote Des Moines as an affordable and attractive destination for visitors and convention business. Recently, the office has fielded numerous media calls from reporters around the country inquiring about Greater Des Moines’ continued success with convention bookings.
“This is excellent media exposure for Des Moines and many locally-owned businesses,” says GDMCVB President and CEO Greg Edwards. “Des Moines has a lot to offer and we want to do all we can to showcase our destination in a positive light. In difficult times, Des Moines continues to emerge as one of the most affordable cities in the nation to visit.”
