Des Moines, IA - Des Moines has been chosen as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Wrestling Championship host city for 2013. The event will be held at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on February 21-23, 2013.

"The Jacobson Center is the ideal location for NJCAA," said Gary Slater, CEO/Manager of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. "This is a major national booking for this new facility."

Des Moines hosted the event in 2010.

"We're proud to host NJCAA again. This is further proof that Iowa is a wrestling state," said Greg Edwards, Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO. "From NCAA to Junior College to Youth, the national governing bodies know Des Moines can and will deliver fans and excellent venues."

Scott Koch, Senior Sports Manager at the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, made the pitch to NJCAA and ultimately solidified Des Moines being selected. Proposals from each potential future host were reviewed and approved by the NJCAA Championship Events Committee and Board of Directors at their 2011 annual legislative meetings in Tampa, Florida.
