Catch Des Moines is proud to announce that Des Moines has been named a finalist for Midwest Living’s Greatest Midwest Town 2017, Food Edition. Des Moines was selected by editors of the magazine as one of the twelve finalists because of the wide-range of food festivals and events that are offered as well as the addition of food trucks, the new Hy-Vee grocerant downtown, and long-list of outstanding restaurants.
“We are excited that Des Moines is a finalist,” says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of Catch Des Moines. “Our food scene is consistently noted as a top reason that people visit Greater Des Moines. Not only can visitors experience award-winning restaurants and chefs at an affordable price but they can also enjoy dishes that they can’t get anywhere else.”
Public voting begins Monday, May 1 and runs through May 31, 2017 at midwestliving.com/vote. Catch Des Moines will promote the contest on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The general public can vote once every 24 hours, from one email address.
The other cities include: Champaign-Urbana, IL; Bloomington, IN; Lawrence, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Duluth, MN; Springfield, MO; Lincoln, NE; Fargo, ND; Toledo, OH; Sioux Falls, SD; and Madison, WI. The winner of the Greatest Midwest Food Town will be featured in the September/October issue of Midwest Living.
