More than 22,500 people dined at 32 restaurants during the seventh annual Des Moines Restaurant Week, August 15-24, contributing $324,000 in economic impact. This year marks an increase of nearly two percent over 2013 where an estimated 22,000 visited participating restaurants. Average spending per check rose even higher, up five percent over 2013.

Restaurants offered special prix-fixed menus at $25 for two lunches or one dinner. Diners were encouraged to save at least four receipts from their dining experience at the participating restaurants and enter to win a trip for two to the beaches of Bermuda. Gareth and Mary Weeks of Ankeny have been selected as the winners.

This year’s sponsors included Iowa Beef Industry Council, Pearl Vodka, Reinhart Food Service and River Walk Coffee.

The 8th annual Des Moines Restaurant Week will take place August 14-23, 2015.  Restaurant Week is organized by dsm Magazine and the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau.
