Tickets to the first Des Moines Area Sports Commission (DMASC) Central Iowa Sports Awards banquet are now available.

Central Iowans have cast their votes for individuals and teams who have pursued athletic excellence with honor in 2009, within a 75-mile radius of Principal Park. The award winners will be named this Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at The Meadows, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona. Tickets are available for $85 per seat, or $750 for a table of 10 at DesMoinesSports.com.

Central Iowa Sports Awards will be awarded in the following categories:

High School

  • Female Athlete of the Year
  • Male Athlete of the Year
  • Play of the Year
  • Game of the Year
  • Team of the Year

College/University

  • Female Athlete of the Year
