DES MOINES, Iowa (October 22, 2019) – Catch Des Moines will host a group of over a dozen convention and meeting planners from around the country in order to gain insights on Greater Des Moines as a meeting destination. The advisory board is designed as a strategic think-tank and client forum in which meetings and event professionals share experiences and perspectives to help Des Moines better serve the needs of meeting stakeholders and attendees.
Insights gained from the inaugural meeting of the Customer Advisory Board will be used in conjunction with the Destination Master Plan that Catch Des Moines is developing with JLL to paint a complete picture of Greater Des Moines in regards to travel and tourism from both a leisure and convention perspective.
Coming off a year which has seen the metro area host such high profile events like the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and the PEO International Convention, along with the upcoming Iowa Caucuses and the IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship for 2020, Catch Des Moines is looking to keep the momentum going by gaining greater understanding of how this “moment” can be leveraged further. Among the topics discussed will be the convention center district and new hotel developments; marketing and sales tools; housing and room block realities; and industry meetings and convention trends.
Available for interviews will be Catch Des Moines President & CEO, Greg Edwards, along with over a dozen meeting planners, who can offer outsider perceptions of Greater Des Moines as a meeting destination.
