DES MOINES, IA - Today, the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a marketing campaign showcasing the many ways visitors and locals can experience winter in Greater Des Moines. The campaign, which includes a microsite: catchdesmoines.com/winter, social media advertising and giveaways, highlights indoor and outdoor winter sports, shopping, attractions and winter events. During the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau's 2014 winter campaign more than 202,000 visitor inquiries were received, up by more than 48,000 from 2013.
"The microsite is a great resource for visitors who are looking for a winter weekend getaway and for those who are coming to the city to visit family for the holidays." says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission. "From ice skating to shopping, there are plenty of ways that visitors and locals can embrace the colder weather and experience Greater Des Moines."
