Tickets are still available for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2013 Wrestling National Championship. The event is in Des Moines for the second time in the championship’s 56-year history, and brings more than 200 wrestlers from 41 states to the Iowa State Fairgrounds Jacobson Exhibition Center March 1-2.
Grand View University is
the local host of the event, along with the Des Moines Area Sports Commission,
a division of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau. The first
of six sessions is set to get underway at 10 a.m. on March 1. Brackets will be
posted February 28 by 9 p.m.
All-session and individual tickets will be available beginning this
Friday at the Jacobson Exhibition Center prior to each session for the
following rates:
Adult All-Session - $45
Adult Individual - $16
Student (15 & above) All-Session - $30
Student Individual - $12
Child (14 & under) All-Session - $15
Child Individual - $6
3 & Under are Free
NAIA announced the
qualifiers for the 2013 NAIA Wrestling National Championships last week. Among
the more than 200 qualifiers are 33 returning All-Americans, including four
defending national champions and seven runner-up finishers. Each weight class
will have at least one returning All-American in action in Des Moines, with the
125-pound event featuring six All-Americans.
