The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, parent organization of the Des Moines Area Sports Commission, makes a commitment to respect the privacy of its staff, members and customers. We realize we have a responsibility to keep confidential any personal and financial information provided to the bureau.
Credit Card Payments – Credit card information provided to the CVB is shared by a minimum number or employees. All credit card information is given to the vice president of finance and administration for processing. Once the purchase is validated, the paper with the card number should be shredded. In the event the number can’t be shredded, the credit card number will be blacked out so as to become illegible. No storage of any credit card number is allowed.
Visitor Inquiry Information – All visitor inquiry information is maintained in our database. The only information to be gathered is name and address. We do not, and will not in the future, sell any information gathered from visitors.
Meeting Planner Information – The CVB does not release contact names, or information on planners to the general public. Members of the CVB receive a list on conventions taking place including the contact name, address and email/web address. Phone numbers of contacts are not given to members or anyone inquiring. Planners that wish to keep information private are not listed on the Convention Calendar in print or on electronic communications.
Housing - Visitors utilizing the CVB Housing will may be assured that their contact information is only shared with the hotel in which the customer is staying at. Credit Card information has been entered into the computer and the written information is destroyed once the reservation has been issued to the hotel.
Google Analytics Information – Data gathered from Google's Interest-based advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender, and interests) with Google Analytics will not be release to the general public. This information is used to better serve our constituents.
