Bring a change of pants when you come to Sleepy Hollow’s Haunted Scream Park this fall. The Scream Park, Iowa’s only haunted theme park, has the all new Kamp Karnage haunted walk this year, as well as the completely redesigned haunted house Nightmare Estates. Producers have also added new scares to the other popular haunted houses, Chaos and The Castle of Blood, to offer thrill seekers a taste of the unexpected.

This year’s walk theme is Kamp Karnage, and will take patrons through a forsaken camp ground crippled with destruction and ruled by fear. Kamp Karnage will have a different feel to it than last year’s Convict Island; this year forcing patrons through much tighter spaces and all-new scenery designed to make them run, not walk, to the exit.

Kamp Karnagel used to be a nice place to take the family for a day of fun,” said Marketing Coordinator Max Kenkel, “But once the ‘L’ broke loose, it turned into pure Karnage.”

The Sleepy Hollow Haunted Scream Park is the only Halloween attraction of its size in Iowa. The theme park setting makes this event special and offers Sleepy Hollow the space needed to turn what began as a hayrack ride in 1994 to the spectacular affair it has become. For those who have never been to the Haunted Scream Park, they may not know what to expect. The 13-acre park features three haunted houses on one end of the village and on the other side is haunted walk and the loading area for the hayrack ride. Each house has a different theme and layout, and all have undergone creative changes so people don’t know what to expect from year to year. The Castle of Blood has a stage where the live music acts perform from 9 to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday nights. The main street of the village is home to the 3-D Gallery, Fog Maze, the Arcade, the inflatables, and several food and ware vendors. The entire village is decorated with Halloween props and lighting, casting an eerie glow over the grounds. Victims enter the village via a wooden bridge through the woods.

“Our Scream Park gives our guests all night fright for one low price,” added Kenkel. “It’s a one stop shop for an entire night of entertainment. We have two different packages for people to choose from. We really have something for everyone.”

This year’s dates for the Haunted Scream Park are October 9-10, 16-17, 22-25, and 29-31. The village opens at 7 PM. Live music will be held from 9-10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Members of the media are invited to visit the park on Friday, October 9th. Media passes are available at the front gate. Contact Max Kenkel to schedule interviews or for photos.
