The sixth annual Des Moines Restaurant Week contributed $308,000 in economic impact to Greater Des Moines—up from $285,000 in 2012. The event continues to grow in popularity. This year nearly 22,000 people dined at 32 restaurants August 16-25, an increase of nearly 10% over the previous year.

Restaurants offered special prix-fixed menus at $25 for two lunches or one dinner.

Diners were invited to save at least four receipts from their dining experience with the participating restaurants and enter to win a trip for two to California’s Sonoma County. Emily and Jason Sparks, Downtown Des Moines residents, were this year’s winners.

The 7th annual Des Moines Restaurant Week will take place August 15-24, 2014.

This year’s sponsors included Hockenbergs Food Service, Iowa Beef Industry Council, Pearl Vodka and Reinhart Food Service.

Des Moines Restaurant Week is organized by Des Moines Business Record, dsm Magazine and the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau. Public comments and feedback on Des Moines Restaurant Week may be sent to tiffany@catchdesmoines.com.
