Vicki Comegys,
Vice President of Sales & Services at the Greater Des Moines Convention and
Visitors Bureau, has been named President of the Professional Convention
Management Association (PCMA) Heartland Chapter Board. This prestigious role
puts Comegys at the helm of the regional chapter for one year.
Comegys was
presented the gavel on February 7, 2013 at the PCMA Heartland Chapter board
installation, awards dinner and silent auction held in Kansas City, Missouri. The
PCMA Heartland Chapter’s mission is to enhance continued professional
development through participation, communication, mentoring and education. In this role, Comegys will lead the
chapter’s 175 members from states including Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri,
Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Comegys has been with the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau for 27 years. She began as a part-time support team member in 1986 and has held roles of Sales Manager, Director of Sales and now Vice President of Sales & Services. In addition to her service with PCMA, she has also served in various roles with the Iowa Society of Association Executives, Executive Women International, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, Iowa Meetings Association, Destination Marketing Association International and the Greater Des Moines Partnership Diversity Committee.
