The Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) Iowa District Rally is August 6-8 in Ames. Motorcyclists will be “Wingin” into Iowa from across the Midwest.

“The Iowa District Rally is expected to bring about 100 motorcycles and 150 Gold Wing riders to Ames,” says Joe Pirillo, GWRRA Iowa District Senior Educator. Throughout the event, riders will enjoy a light show, bike show and more.

The Iowa District Rally will be a preview of the Annual Summer National Wing Ding convention to be held in Greater Des Moines next summer. The GWRRA announced earlier this month that Wing Ding 32 would be held June 30-July 3, 2010 and would bring around 11,000 Gold Wing and Valkyrie motorcyclists to Greater Des Moines.

Pirillo expects 90 to 95 percent of the Iowa District Rally attendees will also attend Wing Ding 32.
