DES MOINES, IOWA - Greater Des Moines has been recognized as a Top Place to Watch in 2015-a distinction awarded to Greater Des Moines for the fourth year in a row by Sports Events Magazine.

Sports event professionals were asked to nominate destinations and sports venues they believe display exceptional creativity and professionalism toward the sports groups they host. Nominations were received from Sports Events Magazine readers throughout the year and the top picks were selected based on results from an online voting system.

"Greater Des Moines landed a number of sporting event crown jewels in the last year alone," says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission. "From booking the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships coming up in May this year to securing the first and second rounds of NCAA Division I Men's Basketball in 2016, last year was an amazing year for sports in Des Moines."

"We're honored to be named a Top Place to Watch and look forward to continuing success in booking and hosting sporting events in 2015 and beyond," adds Edwards.

Greater Des Moines will be featured in the Sports Events Magazine January issue dropping later this month. For a full list of Top Places to Watch in 2015, visit sportseventsmagazine.com.
