Delta Airlines officials have notified the management of Des Moines International Airport (DSM) that the carrier will increase its service to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

In April, Delta will retime the current daily service to a 6:15 a.m. DSM departure and a 10:02 a.m. LGA arrival. The daily return flight will leave LGA at 7:15 p.m. and arrive in DSM at 9:31 p.m.

Starting May 1st, the original service will remain in place and Delta will add a second daily flight. This one will depart LGA at 9 a.m. and arrive in DSM at 11:25 a.m. It will depart DSM daily at 11:55 a.m. and arrive at LGA at 3:39 p.m.

“This is a great service enhancement”, says DSM Aviation Director Craig Smith. “Central Iowa air travelers will now have even more choices to a major destination. This is good for both the business and leisure travelers.”

All service will be provided by Comair on a 50-seat Regional Jet.
