The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes the Iowa Gas Swap Meet’s 27th Annual Collectors Convention, the nation’s largest oil, gasoline and auto-related advertising show.
The swap meet will be held Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, August 1 at the Airport Holiday Inn, 6111 Fleur Drive. Dealers and buyers from across the continent and around the world will travel to Greater Des Moines to attend the largest event featuring original vintage gas pumps and globes, tin and porcelain signs, neons, cans, bottles, maps, and other gas, oil and auto-related advertising items.
New in 2013: 175 items will be live auctioned Thursday evening, July 31, at 6:30 p.m. in the hotel ballroom. The sale will also be broadcast online at www.proxibid.com.
The Iowa Gas Swap Meet is open to the public and all are invited to attend. There is no admission charge to shop or attend the auctions.
