As hot rods roll into Greater Des Moines this weekend, so do new dollars. The Goodguys 20th Heartland Rod and Custom Nationals will be at the Iowa State Fairgrounds July 1-3, 2011.
This event is expected to create at least $2 million in economic impact on Greater Des Moines.
"With the more than 3,500 rods, customs and classics also come visitors ready to explore the city," said Greg Edwards, Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO. "We're proud to play a role in welcoming visitors into Greater Des Moines and creating additional business for our hotels, attractions, restaurants and area businesses."
