37 Restaurants Dish Up Deals During Des Moines Restaurant Week
DES MOINES, IA - Catch culinary creations during the eighth annual Des Moines Restaurant Week Friday, August 14 through Sunday, August 23. Organized by Des Moines Business Record, dsm Magazine and The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, locals and visitors are invited to experience special prix-fixe menus with exclusive special pricing.
"The culinary scene in Greater Des Moines continues to grow thanks to dozens of locally-owned and award-winning restaurants. Both residents and visitors continue to take note of the delicious local eateries we have to offer," says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission. "Restaurant Week provides everyone an opportunity to try a new restaurant or experience a unique menu at your favorite place."
Chefs at 37 of the Metro's top restaurants will prepare two lunches and/or one three-course dinner for $25. As an added benefit, participants can also enter to win a trip for two to Miami, Florida. To be in the running, diners must save at least four receipts from their dining experience at participating restaurants, then either mail or drop them off to Business Publications Corporation (100 4th Street, Des Moines) by Noon on Tuesday, August 25. Nearly 22,500 people dined at the 2014 Restaurant Week participating restaurants which contributed $324,000 to the Greater Des Moines economy, a nearly two percent increase from 2013's contribution. Average spending per check rose even higher, up five percent over 2013.
