The men of Company E, 386th Infantry Battalion, 97th Division, will hold their 25th annual WWII Army Reunion in Des Moines, April 30 – May 3.

As part of the WWII Army Reunion, Company E will tour the Iowa Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge and experience new Humvee equipment, participate in Kentucky Derby Day at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino and enjoy Greater Des Moines. Applebee’s will host lunch and dinner for Company E on Friday, May 1. Company E will conclude their weekend with a banquet at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at Jimmy’s American Café in West Des Moines. The Reunion is headquartered at the Stoney Creek Inn in Johnston.

The men of Company E are a unique group who served in Europe and Japan during World War II. Reunion attendees are coming to Des Moines from California, Ohio, Georgia and Minnesota.

Hosted in 2008 by Dan and Molly Lopez of Des Moines, the Lopez family will host the 2009 Reunion again in honor of Dan’s father John R. Lopez, who was a member of Company E and passed away on March 15, 2007.
