Elizabeth (Beth) Brady is senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Principal Financial Group®. She is responsible for global marketing, including branding, advertising, media relations, digital marketing, sponsorships, community relations, data analytics, multi-cultural marketing, research and business intelligence.

Brady joined Principal® in September 2014. Previously, she served as president of segmentation solutions and the global head of marketing effectiveness at Nielsen Corporations. Prior to Nielsen, Brady was an officer at General Mills where, since 1999, she served in key senior Marketing leadership roles in support of strategic initiatives for the growth and success of various business units, including Progresso Soup and Food, Dry Dinners, and Wholesome Snacks. Before that, she held marketing and product management roles at Pillsbury, Wise Foods and Best Foods/CPC International.

A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Brady holds a Master’s of Public Administration with a concentration in International Policy from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science concentrating in International Relations from St. Lawrence University. Brady has served on the boards of Make a Wish and Jeremiah Program, and has been involved with Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity. She’s currently a member of The Conference Board Council for CMOs.  She holds positions on the boards of The Principal Charity Classic, a Champions Tour event sponsored by Principal, as well as The Des Moines Arts Festival and the Greater Des Moines Partnership Communications Board.

Katie Patterson founded Happy Medium with two guiding principles: honesty and transparency. With a strong background in media buying and account management, Katie launched and bootstrapped Happy Medium after seeing a need for an authentic approach in the market. Since its inception in 2011, the company has expanded to accommodate its ever-growing list of clients, services and employees, but its guiding principles have stayed at the center of all that Katie and Happy Medium do, while simultaneously achieving more than 1,000 percent revenue growth in just four years. Never one to rest on her laurels, Katie launched her first product, Happy Boards, a pioneering digital signage software, in 2015. The process helped her to determine Happy Medium should include a place for creativity and inspiration in order to create solutions that not only answer needs for her agency but for businesses worldwide. Katie has been awarded the Iowa Women of Innovation’s Rising Star, Business Record’s Best Up and Coming Business Leader, and included in the annual Forty Under 40 class. Under her leadership, Happy Medium has been named Best Workplace for Young Professionals, Best Social Media Company multiple years running, and made back-to-back appearances on the Inc. 5000 list. Dave Miglin is the Vice President of Interactive Services at Strategic America in West Des Moines. Born and raised in Cleveland OH, Dave has nearly 30 years of sales, recruitment, advertising and marketing experience working in senior positions for Monster/TMP Worldwide, AppVault, PinDot Media and now SA. Among the brands that Dave has worked with are Pella Windows & Doors, North American Van Lines, Lennox Industries, Comcast, Service Experts, Orkin, Midas Auto Service Experts and many more.  

In addition to his work with SA, Dave is the Board President for the Iowa Stage Theatre Company (and the soon-to-be-former StageWest Theatre Company), which is launching its inaugural season in September 2017 at the Kum & Go Theatre in the Des Moines Social Club. Dave has been married to his wife, Karen, for 19-years and has two children – Ellie (15) and Evan (12).
