Zombie Hollow is an elaborate “yard haunt” in an Urbandale back yard, including robotic pirates, skeletons and zombies created by the homeowners. Expect several new features this year, including a tribute to the Disneyland “Hatbox Ghost.”

Ages: Smaller kids may be scared by some of the props, but the homeowners consider Zombie Hollow an all-ages attraction. It’s definitely the most kid-friendly local haunt. “I love this one,” Huffman said. “I wouldn’t take my kid to any haunted attraction but Zombie Hollow.”
