What's in our Night Sky? Did you know that you can see a galaxy 2 ½ million light-years away with your unaided eye? Or that you can see craters on the moon with ordinary binoculars? The Des Moines Astronomical Society (DMAS) will present an evening of adventure with the night sky.

A classroom program will begin at 7pm to reveal what's in our night sky and how we can see it. Following that, sky conditions permitting, we will move outdoors to look though telescopes operated by experienced members of DMAS. Objects in the sky that night will include the planets Saturn and Jupiter.

School-aged children with parent supervision are allowed to attend.
