A taste of Motown is headed to Des Moines next summer. Famed pop group The Temptations announced its return to Iowa’s capital city with a scheduled performance on June 16, 2018, at Hoyt Sherman Place.
Tickets to see the Temptations go on sale starting December 15 at 10 a.m. via ticketmaster.com, at the Hoyt Sherman Place box office or by phone at 800-745-3000.
The famed Detroit-born vocal group — which features remaining founding member Otis Williams — last played Des Moines in 2016, at the Iowa State Fair. Tickets to the Hoyt Sherman performance cost $49.50-$85.
“For more than 50 years, The Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hit and sold-out performances throughout the world,” a news release said.
A 1989 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Temptations are known for influential numbers such as “My Girl,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” and “Get Ready.”
