Summer Rocks in Urbandale!

    Summer Rocks in Urbandale! is a celebratory event designed to kick off the Urbandale Public Library’s summer reading program for kids and adults – as well as highlight other summer programming and events taking place in Urbandale (and around the metro area). The theme, Summer Rocks in Urbandale! is an expansion of the Library’s summer reading program theme, Libraries Rock!

    Summer Rocks in Urbandale! is a free public event projected to engage visitors in:
    • A variety of activities for kids and adults (magician/balloon artist, continual storytime, music, etc., plus activities offered by partner organizations at their respective tables)
    • Music performances
    • An opportunity for both kids and adults to sign up for the library's summer reading program
    • The unveiling of the first-ever All Urbandale Reads book for adults
    • Special programming from the Grout Museum

    The program will take place on the library south lawn grounds and patio. Other organizations represented at this program include Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa, Mosaic, Urbandale Police Department, Urbandale Fire Department, Urbandale Caring Corps (UCAN), Mid-Iowa Council of Boy Scouts, Urbandale Community Adult Band, Urbandale Parks & Recreation, Urbandale Historical Society, Urbandale Food Pantry, Urbandale Community Theater, and Living History Farms.
