A cherished tradition continues with the Spring Luncheon, this year featuring Ellen Ecker Ogden, Co-Founder of The Cook’s Garden seed catalog in 1984, introducing home gardeners to exceptional European & American heirloom lettuces & salad greens. Ellen developed seasonal recipes for the catalog, which appeared in her first cookbook, From the Cook’s Garden. Ellen’s garden designs and articles have been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Country Gardens, Better Homes and Gardens, Eating Well, The New York Times and The Boston Globe to name a few.
In her latest book, The Complete Kitchen Garden, Ellen shares her unique perspective on the kitchen garden, offering garden design layouts as well as recipes. We are thrilled to host her as she brings her art school inspired gardening knowledge & experience to Des Moines.
