Savannah Bananas

The circus-like baseball team, Savannah Bananas, are bringing Banana Ball to Principal Park on August 25 & 26, 2023. The Savannah Bananas’ mission is to make baseball fun through on-field hijinks like choreographed dances, skits, and added props. They also have their own version of baseball that they call Banana Ball that includes rules like no walks allowed batters can steal first, and one-on-one showdown tiebreakers. 

"We are excited to be hosting the national phenomena, Savannah Bananas here at Principal Park for a game of Banana Ball in 2023. This will be a new experience for myself, our fans, and our great city, as we have been playing minor league baseball in Des Moines since 1948. After reading the Savannah Bananas official 2023 Banana Ball World Tour City Mock Draft, we are honored to have our city, and ball park become Bananaland for two hours of family fun and entertainment on August 25, 2023," said Iowa Cubs President and General Manager Sam Bernabe. 

The Bananas will be taking on their rivals The Party Animals. The Party Animals have just as much fun as the Bananas and have been known to beat the Bananas in a highly competitive game of Banana Ball.  The Bananas have been featured on ESPN, Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Sports Illustrated. 

Tickets are not on sale yet, but fans can sign up to get presale alerts. They will get notifications about ticket information as soon as it is announced.
