  • Overview

As part of our summer Saturdays in Centennial concert series, and sponsored by Stivers Ford Lincoln of Waukee and the Waukee Public LIbrary, the Waukee Area Arts Council presents The Host Country.

Free to the public. Bring a blanket, bring some food...bring whatever you want! Come out and enjoy great music on Saturday summer evenings in Waukee's Centennial park.

The Host Country’s genre experimentation puts them in a category of their own. Their music is a fusion of folk, rock, and blues; a mix of raw and vulnerable, combined with hauntingly passionate chord shifts. Dual writing credits between Ty Wistrand & Diana Weishaar put forth versatile songs that are evocative and intimate. Ty (guitar/vox), Diana (keys/vox), Tom Rue (bass), Ethan Weishaar (drums), and newly added member Michael Lovan (guitar) are musical storytellers and engaging performers on stage. Hear their self-titled 2017 album and previous work on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, or at their website
