Salsa Des Moines will be holding its 10th Annual Masquerade Ball, Saturday, November 16 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The doors open at 8 p.m. so you can snag a great seat. Then join in a beginner Salsa lesson from 8:15–8:45 p.m., no partner needed. This year's event will feature live music by Parranderos Latin Combo, plus a great mix of Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and more played by local favorite, DJ Xan (https://www.facebook.com/djxan515).10th Anniversary serving the community, we also will be recognizing the Latin culture with a Day of the Dead Celebration. The Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos, is celebrated throughout Mexico and elsewhere to honor friends and family who have died.
You are invited to bring a remembrance of your loved ones to place at a special altar of remembrance called an Ofrenda. The night also includes a special group waterfall dance and dance performances by groups from throughout the Des Moines dance community. The cost is $15/person in advance and $20/person at the door.
