Start preparing for a night with music royalty, Iowa. International pop star Lorde has unveiled plans for her first-ever Des Moines performance, set for early 2018.
The New Zealand pop artist announced via Twitter late Thursday that she will grace the Wells Fargo Arena stage on March 25, 2018. It's the first show confirmed to take place at the downtown Des Moines arena next year.
The announced performance comes as part of the “Melodrama” world tour, which kicks off Sept. 26 in Manchester, England. A opening act for the Des Moines show is yet to be announced, Lorde's website says.
General public tickets go on sale June 23 at 10 a.m., per the Iowa Events Center website. North American pre-sale tickets launch June 20 at 10 a.m. A pre-sale code will be sent to fans subscribed to Lorde's email list on June 19. Her website suggests fans register for the email list by June 18 to ensure receiving a code.
Lorde, one of the most prolific stars in modern pop, released her highly-anticipated sophomore record, “Melodrama,” on Friday via Republic Records. The album was co-produced by Lorde and Jack Antonoff, of fun. and Bleachers fame, at Antonoff's home studio in New York City. The album’s spirited debut single, “Green Light,” dropped in March and has since reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
