    Rolling Stone contributor Jeff Goodell will speak about rising seas at the State Historical Building on July 20 as part of the Tomorrow Plan Speakers Series. Goodell is the author of “The Waters Will Rise: Rising Seas, Sinking Cities, and the Reshaping of the Civilized World.” A  native Californian who once worked for Apple, Jeff has written extensively about energy & the environment since joining Rolling Stone as a contributing editor for the magazine in 1995. Among his works are “Big Coal: The Dirty Secret Behind America’s Energy Future” and “How to Cool the Planet: Geoengineering and the Audacious Quest to Fix Earth’s Climate.”

    He won the Grantham Prize, a major environmental journalism award, for “How to Cool the Planet.”
