    You are invited to experience the Celtic music of Terpsichore, featuring fiddler Elke Baker and pianist Liz Donaldson. Elke Baker was the 1995 US National Scottish fiddle champion. She has played all over North America and in places as far-flung as Japan, West Africa, and Scotland. She combines lyrical melodies with driving rhythms in her energetic playing. Liz Donaldson is the 2017 recipient of the Scroll of Honor bestowed by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. She is known for her innovative back-up style incorporating exciting rhythms, textures and harmony lines into her music.

    Terpsichore will play in Des Moines on Friday, April 27 at 8:00 pm. The venue is St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 3424 Forest Avenue on the intersection with Beaver. Parking is available in the lot behind the church. The suggested donation is $15 for adults and $9 for students (tickets available at the door, cash or check). A complimentary dessert buffet with other refreshments will be provided following the concert. The event is sponsored by the Central Iowa Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
