    Maj. Gen. Tim Orr, the Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, invites the public to the Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center (CDJMTC) for the 2018 Adjutant General's Summer Concert Series at the historic Camp Dodge Pool Pavilion complex, 7105 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston. This concert series is in its eighth consecutive season and is free and open to the public. The Thursday evening concerts begin May 24 and run through July 19 with a one week break for Johnston Green Days which are June14-17. All concerts start at 7 p.m.

    May 24 – Brother Trucker – A central Iowa favorite featuring roots, Americana and alternative country. Summer Kickoff Block Party – Come tailgate and bring your neighbors!

    May 31 – The Sons of Gladys Kravitz – Classic rock and pop stylings.
    Collegiate Team Colors night - wear your favorite team colors in honor of an Iowa legend. Prior to the concert, former Iowa quarterback Chuck Long will talk about Heisman trophy winner, Nile Kinnick, and the University of Iowa football program at the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum starting at 6 p.m.

    June 7 – Red Dirt Renegades – A blend of outlaw country, southern rock and roots rock.
    Classic car and motorcycle show – This concert will also include a classic car and motorcycle show starting at 4:30 p.m. with reserved parking for participating vehicles.

    June 28 – 42 Romeo – The Iowa Army National Guard’s pop and classic rock band.
    Military Heritage Night – Wear your favorite red, white and blue!

    July 5 – Richard Arndt & The Brew – Rock, blues and bottle tonk. Celebrating the 100th birthday of the Army Warrant Officer Corps

    July 12 – Abby Normal – Classic ‘80s rock.

    July 19 – Tony Valdez – Latin, rock, funk and more!

    Concessions are available from local vendors; coolers, picnic baskets and tailgating are also encouraged. Be sure to bring lawn chairs.
    Visitors can enter CDJMTC for concerts through either the main gate at 7105 NW 70th Ave., Johnston or the historic East Gate at 7700 NW Beaver Drive, Johnston. Photo identification (a driver's license is acceptable) is required for individuals 16 years of age and older.

    ALL motorcyclists (drivers and passengers) on CDJMTC are required by Department of Defense policy to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of helmet, eye protection (full-face shield or goggles or sunglasses), gloves, long pants, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, and over-the-ankle footwear while operating on CDJMTC. Motorcyclists without the required PPE may park their motorcycles at the NW Beaver Drive gate turnaround and walk to the pool complex (approximately three blocks).
