    History of Theater Classes

    While the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down live theater at ACT, we’d like to invite you to join us as we explore the development of theater-----all virtually, from the comfort of your own home! Instructor David Veatch, an artist currently residing in Greenville, South Carolina, will guide you through the events that have shaped theater in America, taking a peek at stories that made us laugh, cry, connect, and grow! David graduated with his B.A. in Theatre Arts in 2018 and he will be finishing his M.A. in Theatre in May 2021.  
    You can participate in these exciting classes on the History of Theater as an entire set or pick-and-choose single or multiple sessions. Keep reading for dates, topics and cost!  

    Session Four: Broadway 
    March 28, 2021          3:00-4:00 pm 
    The American musical is a staple in the American Theatre. We will look at the development, importance, and creation of the American musical. Plan to attend this lesson if you love musicals and want to learn more about the history, development, and impact of the musical! Plan to share your favorite musical and song with the class! 
    ACT members: $10 per class or $35 for all 4 classes 
    Non-members: $15 per class or $50 for all 4 classes
