Overview

The Forest Avenue Library is showing three films during Black History month as part of a film series.

'Marshall' (Saturday, February 10, 2:00 PM) stars Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall. The movie covers part of Marshall’s early career. Marshall would eventually become the first African-American Supreme Court Justice.

'Loving' (Saturday, February 24, 2:00 PM) is the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple arrested in the 1960s for violating interracial marriage laws.

The series concludes with 'Selma' (Monday, February 26, 5:30 PM), a film about the famed 1965 march from Selma, AL, to Montgomery, AL, that aimed to help secure equal voting rights. Popcorn will be provided while supplies last during each of these movies.
