David Baldacci is the bestselling author of more than forty novels. After practicing law for nine years in Washington D.C., Baldacci published his first novel, a political thriller titled Absolute Power, in 1996. The book was adapted into a feature film with Clint Eastwood as its director and star. Since then, Baldacci has sold more than 150 million copies of his books worldwide, including in more than 80 countries and 45 languages.
Baldacci newest book, Walk the Wire, continues the #1 New York Times bestselling Memory Man series. The books feature Amos Decker, an extraordinary detective who, because of a life-changing brain injury, remembers everything, including painful things he would give anything to forget. In Walk the Wire, Decker and his colleague Alex Jamison are brought into a booming fracking town in North Dakota. As the population booms, crime increases, and now Amos and Alex must investigate the shocking death of a young woman. It will be released on April 21, the day before Baldacci arrives in Des Moines.
In 2008, Baldacci won the International Thriller Writers first ever Silver Bullet Award, which recognizes outstanding and meritorious achievement in philanthropic endeavors. His family’s Wish You Well Foundation supports family and adult literacy programs in the United States. He also received the Literary Lifetime Achievement Award from the Library of Virginia in 2017.
