Local Momentum Art Studio Celebrates National Disability Awareness Month with Art Exhibition featuring Artists with Disabilities and Mental Health Issues. Community Support Advocates (CSA) Momentum Art Program hosts a one-night-only annual event each October to recognize the talents or artists living with a disability, brain injury, or mental health diagnosis in Iowa. Momentum: Works of Growth and Recovery is open to the public, free, and family-friendly. We invite everyone to attend and experience this diverse art exhibit at the Hoyt Sherman Gallery. Art included in this exhibition will be selected by the 2018 Guest Juror Tracy Duran, Studio Education and Outreach Manager at Des Moines Art Center. Community Support Advocates, a 2018 Governor’s Arts Award recipient, is having success using art as a powerful tool in building resiliency for their participants. Experience for yourself how Momentum is a catalyst for positive change in our community.
