Finding inspiration from scenic byways and state parks in Northeast Iowa, Iowa artist Mary Ann Gloe embodies the raw and wild beauty of Iowa’s natural areas in watercolor and oil paintings. Illuminating artistry of various geological features, this collection of work aims to help residents and visitors better understand the beauty of public lands and parks in Iowa. These paintings were also used to create posters and postcards designed to promote Iowa parks and scenic byways. View Mary’s original paintings on display in “Art at the Library: Capturing the Beauty of Iowa’s Public Parks” now through April 30 in the State Law Library at the State Capitol.
